Grammar Girl App App Reviews

Like most reviewers here, I am a big fan of Grammar Girl so I bought this app thinking Id be able to listen to the podcasts and have access to all of them via the archives. Potentially, this may be true but my experience - from the first few minutes I played an episode - is that the podcast froze, and I had to do a hard reset. Then the podcast went into an insanely fast fast-forward. Thus far I havent really been able to enjoy this app. I know Ms. Fogartys lessons are normally great, but they need to upgrade the site and fix the bugs so the subscribers can hear them correctly. Please fix this. Im sure you can and will. Just do it! Thanks.

I am happy to support Grammar Girl, the best thing to come from Reno since Fozzie Bear. The app so far has downloaded and played episodes smoothly. Some of the episodes are not ad-free. The variable speed playback is gimmicky and worse than useless. I do not like the very faint "darkened" text color of already played episodes: the very faint gray superimposed over the GG silhouette makes reading nearly impossible. (Played episode titles can be displayed in white text like unplayed episodes.)

I dont know why I paid for this app when I couldve just downloaded the free podcasts.

Love Grammar Girl but hate this app so far. It will not load. Really cant say more than that. It will not load so I can not use it.

Dont waste your time and $ on this app. They are just some audio episodes. Thats all you get. No means to search, no video, no PDF files. Nothing.. Just a long list of Audio episodes. The worst thing is a was fun a fun of grammar girl.

App is very buggy. Episodes often skip and start over on their own. I got this for the older episodes that are not available on the podcast but am very disappointed.

This app could use a more interactive element. This app needs something that helps instill the rules rather than just presenting them. It is disappointing.

App wont open. Please fix!!

What is this? Its a waste of $.

Quick and dirty (?) tips really makes me to understand English better. I would recommend this app for each foreign national who wants to learn English. A better app for English learning!

Great app for learning the ins and outs of excellent grammar...

Complicated information, dissected and presented concisely.

Dont bother. It isnt worth it.

I tutor, and straight grammar can be boring. This app brings it all together and makes a delightful game of parts of speech. My two boys fought over the iPad for an hour trying to beat each others score. The step-by-step progression, the timed and untimed options, and the variety of sentence structure makes for good teaching. It helps to have memorized the auxiliary verbs and to have some experience with the parts of speech before playing. They got to level six, but stayed at level five trying to improve their scores. They knew they needed to get better at the concept of adverb before advancing. Better that they decide that than I.

The topics and level of explanation is high. But the way the content is provided through the App is average. There are 2 main problems: 1) the app is ridiculously slow in loading itself. I have iPhone 5s. It is a general problem caused even if I use high speed wifi / LTE connection - although the loading shouldnt be affected by access speed - and / or have episodes already downloaded to the App. 2) each episode contains high amount of embedded marketing and commercials content

Right now the first episode I can have is no early than 24. Please fix. Thank you.

This is one of my favorite apps.

My favorite podcast; I really enjoy her various topics. Fun way to learn grammar & be entertained at the same time!
